Welcome to our home page: Our names are Ronald and Peggy LaFaive. We live and home raise our Chins in Central Wisconsin. We are exclusively breeding Japanese Chins.  Our basic stock originates out of the Touche' and Tai Chin lines all our male Sires are DNA tested and registered with the AKC.  As well as breeding we also are actively involved in showing our babies.  At this time we have three boys in the ring, we finished Timmy in 2005 and  finish Chase  in 2006.  We are proud members of the Japanese Chin Club Of America  and the American Kennel Club  We are firm believers in the breeding code of ethics and would never tolerate puppy mills or pet store puppies. Our Chins are home raised and socialized around other people and pets. We offer both companion puppies with spay neuter contract and  potential show quality Chins. As with any show quality, we cannot guarantee a champion puppy, however with the proper training and commitment, any puppy has a chance to become a champion.  We are very active in our local Kennel Club, and try to promote pet responsibility and awareness to those we come in contact with. We thank you for visiting our web site and if you have any questions, please dont hesitate to contact us.

The origin of this breed is clouded in the mysticism of far eastern ancient rites. Small dogs were known to have crisscrossed the silk road accompanying travelers as both presentations of trade and companions on long journeys. Some of these dogs became pets of the Buddhist Monks, nurtured and mated in these monasteries, they were eventually given as gifts to imperial dignitaries and quickly assumed their rightful position in the imperial palaces. They were kept and closely guarded for their imperial families by private eunuchs, who were charged with looking out after the little dogs every need. These dogs were only allowed to be in the possesion of royalty and the commoner was severely punished if found to have this dog in their possesion.

ON THE SERIOUS SIDE

This breed is known to have one drawback as many old breeders will attest to. They will tell you that this breed is too smart-you cannot own a Japanese Chin for the Chin owns you, you cannot train a Japanese Chin, for the chin trains you, and once you have lived with one, you will never want to be without one. Trust us from experience one will not be enough.
